Equity prices recuperated later in the month with the S&P 500 Index advancing 2.4% for August and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.76% for the month. The tech heavy Nasdaq Composite Index was up 0.7% in August, as technology sector companies saw the most volatility.
